I started Story of Humanity because I believe we all share the same story, underneath everything — the same hopes, the same need to be seen, the same worth, regardless of circumstance. It's easy to lose sight of that when someone's situation looks different from your own. I wanted to build something that helps all of us remember it, together — not by pointing out where we fall short, but by actually sitting down, sharing a meal, and letting that shared humanity show itself.

This isn't complicated work, but it is real work. You sit down, you share a meal, you listen. Sometimes that's the whole thing — a good conversation, nothing more, and that's a complete success. Sometimes, if someone's open to it, their story becomes something we can carefully, consensually share with the world — and sometimes, that's how a family finds their way back to each other.

What you'd actually be doing

Sharing a meal with someone, on their terms, at their pace
Listening — genuinely, without an agenda or a checklist
If they're open to it, helping carry their story forward, always with their explicit say at every step
Following a consent process we take seriously — every photo, every published word, every name, is their choice, not ours

What this isn't

This isn't case management, and you don't need any special training to start
You don't need to fix anyone's situation or have answers
You just need to be willing to sit, be present, and treat someone like the whole person they are
